How to reach Cremona

National Train Strike

Take a look at information regarding the national train strike scheduled for Sept. 7 and Sept. 8.

National Strike 7-8 September 2026
The trade unions CUB TRASPORTI and SGB have called a national strike from 21:18 on September 7 to 21:00 on September 8, 2026, which may impact rail traffic across Lombardy.

On Monday, September 7, trains scheduled to depart according to the Official Timetable before 21:18 and arriving at their final destination by 22:18 will run as planned.
On Tuesday, September 8, only the trains included in the list of “Guaranteed Minimum Services” will operate.

Cremona is well connected by regional and national rail services. The city’s train station is served by Trenitalia, with regular connections from Milano, Piacenza, Parma, and Brescia. From Milano, the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. For international travelers, Milano’s central station (Milano Centrale) offers high-speed trains from major European cities, with easy transfers to Cremona.

✈️ By Plane

The nearest airports to Cremona are:

  • • Milano Linate Airport (LIN) : approx. 1 hour by car or train;
  • • Milano Beragamo Orio al Serio International Airport (BGY) : approx. 1.5 hours;
  • • Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) : approx. 2 hours;
  • • Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN) and Bologna Marconi Airport (BLQ) : approx. 2–2.5 hours.
From these airports, visitors can reach Cremona via train, shuttle services, or rental car.

🚗 By Car

Cremona is easily accessible via the A21 motorway, with exits at Cremona and Castelvetro Piacentino. The city is well connected to major highways:

  • A1 : Milano → Bologna → Firenze → Roma → Napoli;
  • A4 : Torino → Milano → Brescia → Verona → Venezia;
  • A7 & A22 : Connecting Genova, Modena, and the passo del Brennero.

All buses will display the Conference logo on the front.
Please note: transfer services have been arranged only for participants who requested them during registration. There are NO extra spots available on the buses.

September 6th at 6:00 PM – Milano Centrale to Cremona
Meeting point at Milano Centrale Station: in front of Hotel Gallia.
Our staff will be there to check your presence.
Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled departure time, as the bus will leave at 6:00 PM.
The bus will drop you off in Cremona City Centre – Piazza della Libertà, the closest point to the area where most of the hotels recommended for the conference are located.

September 7th at 9:00 AM – Milano Centrale to Cremona
Meeting point at Milano Centrale Station: in front of Hotel Gallia.
Our staff will be there to check your presence.
Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled departure time, as the bus will leave at 9:00 AM.
The bus will drop you off in Cremona City Centre – Piazza della Libertà, the closest point to the area where most of the hotels recommended for the conference are located.

September 7th at 11:00 AM – Milano Centrale to Cremona
Meeting point at Milano Centrale Station: in front of Hotel Gallia.
Our staff will be there to check your presence.
Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled departure time, as the bus will leave at 11:00 AM.
The bus will drop you off directly at Politecnico di Milano – Cremona Campus.

September 10th at 1:30 PM – Cremona to Milano Centrale
The bus will depart from Politecnico di Milano – Cremona Campus.
Our staff at the registration desk will show you where to find the bus and will check your presence.
Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled departure time, as the bus will leave at 1:30 PM.
